Before and After Treatment
Pre – Treatment
- Arrive with the treatment area clean and free of makeup.
- Inform your provider about any medications, supplements, allergies, or medical conditions.
- Tell your provider about any previous botulinum toxin treatments.
- Let your provider know if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant.
- Discuss your treatment goals and areas of concern with your injector.
Post – Treatment
- Avoid rubbing or massaging the treated areas immediately after treatment.
- Avoid strenuous exercise and excessive heat for the period recommended by your provider.
- Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, or bruising at injection sites may occur.
- Results typically begin to appear within a few days and continue to develop.
- Follow your injector’s personalized aftercare instructions.
- Contact your provider if you experience any unexpected or concerning symptoms.

If it’s your first time getting a treatment, you may be a little nervous and that’s okay! Localized pain, infection, inflammation, tenderness, swelling, erythema, and/or bleeding/bruising may be associated with the injection. Tell your healthcare provider about all your medical conditions, including: any side effects from botulinum toxin products, including dry eye; breathing, swallowing, bleeding, or heart problems; plans to have surgery; weakness of forehead muscles; drooping eyelids; have had surgery on your face; are pregnant or breastfeeding or plan to become pregnant or breastfeed (it is not known if Jeuveau can harm your unborn baby or passes into breast milk).
Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. Using Jeuveau with certain other medicines may cause serious side effects. Do not start any new medicines until you have told your healthcare provider that you have received Jeuveau in the past.
Especially tell your healthcare provider if you: have received any other botulinum toxin product in the past and the last 4 months, and exactly which product you received (such as BOTOX, BOTOX Cosmetic, MYOBLOC, DYSPORT, XEOMIN, or DAXXIFY).
Jeuveau lasts 4 months, on average, according to clinical trials, while Botox lasts 3 to 4 months. Longevity can vary by patient and dose. Typically, the higher the dose, the longer it lasts — up to a certain point. There is a margin of diminishing returns.
